Comet Pojmanski C/2006 A1

 

Comet Pojmaniski C/2006 A1 will be bright enough to be visible in binoculars for the most of Mar 2006 if you can see the eastern horizon about an hour before sunrise.  It is a morning object and should be visible about an hour before sunrise.  The track starts on the morning of 6 Mar 2006 and the the time period between each symbol is 1 day.  This comet is a fast mover. 


 
 
 
 
 

From my location I had to view the comet through the limbs of a tree.

Scope:  Orion MAK 500
Canon EOS 20d, ISO 3200
Focal Ratio:  f5.5
Exposure:  21 sec

The STAR 2000 tracked the fast moving comet through the trees until sunrise.

Scope:  8" LX 200 SCT
MX-5C CCD & STAR 2000 w/ IDAS LPR filter.
Focal Ratio:  f3.3
Exposure:  Four 4 minute and one 2 min exposure.
