M-63 is about 9 degrees away from the tip of the handle of the big dipper.    You will probably need dark skies and a 6-inch scope to view it consistently.   The central core is bright, but the outer regions of the arm are very dim.  Balancing these two extremes into a good image was a very difficult processing job.
