M-64 "Blackeye" Galaxy

M-64 is a stunning galaxy because of the unique features surrounding the galaxy core.  These features give it the "Blackeye" nickname.   This dark feature is a dust lane and should be visible in a 6 or 8 inch scope.  Although I have not observed it visually.  The blue color near the core and dust lane in the larger image is possibly due to active star formation.
