M-81 in Ursa Major
M-81 is a large spiral galaxy near the big dipper.  It's location is about 10 degress from the pointer star Dubhe as shown in the chart below.  M-81, M-82 and  NGC 3077 make a nice grouping of galaxies.  So far I've only imaged M-81.

Image M-81

This image of M-81 was taken with my Orion 90 mm guide scope riding piggy back on the 8" LX-200.  While the 90 mm has a nice large  field of view, it's difficult to image the faint arms of the galaxy with only a 90 mm scope.
