M-83 Spiral Galaxy
M-83 is a nice spiral galaxy in Hydra.    It should be visible in a 6-8 inch telescope, if you can see southern objects.  However, it will take a much larger scope to see more than the central core, because the arms have a low surface brightness.  I needed a 60 minute exposure to image them with my 8" LX 200.
