M-94 Galaxy in Canes Venatci

M-94 is a medium sized and relatively bright galaxy.  You see it almost face on, and at magnitude  9.0 you can probably see it in a 90 mm scope.  It's surface brightness is is high as well.  You probably can see the central core as a slightly fuzzy star.  It's about 15 degrees south of the bend in the handle of the big dipper.  The brightness differences between the central area and the outer arms make this galaxy very difficult to image.  Any exposure that captures the outer arms severly over exposes the central region.
