NGC 4565 "Pencil" Galaxy
NGC 4565 is also known  as "Bernice's Hair Clip.   It is one of my favorite edge on galaxies because  it is large and bright.   You should be able to see the brighter central core visually in a 6-8 inch scope easily.  You may be able to see it in a 90 mm, but I have not tried to do that.  The best way to locate it visually is to start with the magnitude 4.4 star Gamma Coma Berenices.  Then drop down about 2.5 degrees to a small triplet of magnitude 5&6 stars.   Another galaxy NGC 4494  is about 1/2 gegree to the left of the star triplet and NGC 4565 is another degree further to the left of NGC 4494.
