NGC
4656 appears much larger than 4657. The both galaxies have a bright
central region, but the dim outer regions are difficult from light polluted
skies, even with an 80 minute exposure. The galaxy is irregular in
shape and sometimes called the "hockey stick" with NGC 4657 being
the puck. You will need dark skies and at least a 6" scope to see
it visually. You should be able to locate it by star hopping down
from Corcarol.
