This image was taken with the Meade f3.3 focal reducer and 15 mm extension ring giving a focal ratio of about f4.8 on my  8" f10 LX 200.   The image is a composite of three individual images taken with the MX-5C and STAR 2000.  They were first color converted with the Starlight Express  software and then combined in MaxIm DL.  The image was further processed  in Photoshop.   Total exposure is 35 minutes.   My skies were magnitude 3 the night this image was taken, so the image came out pretty good considering.   Click here to go back.
