NGC 6445 "Little Gem" Nebula
NGC 6445 is also called the "Box Nebula" because is seemingly rectangular shape.     Imagining it with an eight inch under suburban skies required substantial exposure.  The skies were magnitude 3 for the f10 image.  Capturing the dim planetary under these conditions illustrates the advantage of CCD imagining.  The f6.6 image was taken under better conditions, and just begins to show some the gaseous tendrils surrounding the nebula.  You can see these clearly in the Kitt Peak Advanced Observing Program (AOP) Image.  It will be a challenge to see visually unless you have dark skies and use an eight inch or larger scope at high power.
