This image was taken using the Meade f3.3 focal reducer and the 30 mm extender ring on my 8" f10 LX 200.    Using this combination results in a focal ratio of about f3.3.   The image is a composite of three individual images.  They were first color converted with the Starlight Xpress STAR 2000 software, added with MaxImDL software and then further processed  in  Photoshop.   Total exposure is 22 minutes.   I left the background light in this image so you can see the dim (> magnitude 15 galaxies).  These galaxies appear in this image as dim fuzzy stars.  There are at least 12 galaxies in addition to NGC 80.  Click here to go back.
