Comet Hale Bopp Images
Unfortunately Comet Hale Bopp arrived about a year before my telescope, so my photos were taken with my Nikon Camera and my home built Barn Door Camera Mount.   Hale Bopp is still visible from the Southern Hemisphere, but not from the USA.  So I'll just have to wait for the next bright comet.

This  image was taken using my home built Barn Door mount.   The bright object in the lower left in the moon.  You can also see the open cluster M-45 to the right and up from the moon.  This was an evening shot.
Focal Ratio:  f3.5
Exposure:  5 Minutes

Another  image taken using my home built Barn Door mount.  It was working very good for this image.   I was really upset when the clouds moved across Hale Bopp because dawn was approaching, and I knew this would be one of the last images I would get.  Now it has become one of my favorite shots.  This was taken just before sunrise.

This photo was taken with the 200 mm lens on a different day than the previous one.  I "discovered" it when looking through a box of old pictures.  Fortunately, I'm more organized now.
