Animation  of Ganymede Transit
This sequence of images show Ganymede start a transit over the face of Jupiter.  The images were taken between 0:26 and 0:56 UT on 27 Feb 2001.  The seeing at that time was not good and I also had some surface wind.  For each frame in the animation I took at least 10 images to obtain one good enough to include in the animation.    I processed each images in the animation frame twice.  Once to bring out the moon more clearly and once for the planet.  I then painted out the over exposed image on the copy I processed to show the moons and recombined the images in Photoshop using the Photoshop blending features.   Finally, I aligned the frames and created the animation in Image Ready.     Click here to go back.
