There are about
1,300 galaxy type objects brighter than magnitude 13 and another 2,700
with a brightness between 13 and 14. All of these should be within
range of my 8" SCT and MX-5C. That presents quite a challenge to
the amateur astronomer like myself. "So many galaxies, so little
time" is a common theme for those of us who want to image all of them.
I'm just getting started, but the images on these pages is what I've been
able to accomplish so far. The screen capture below is from
Megastar and shows in the Virgo, Coma Berenices and Leo area of the sky.
Each blue ellipse is a numbered galaxy of magnitude 14 or brighter.
