| Elliptical
galaxies are galaxies which have not developed a spiral structure. 
In amateur scopes they look much like the central core of a spiral galaxy. 
However, large telescopes reveal that the spiral arms have not developed. 
  Many of these galaxies are in the Virgo Cluster. |
