M-88 & SN 1999cl
M-88 has long been a favorite galaxy of amateurs.  It is relatively bright and provides a good image.  The year 1999 though brought an added bonus.  A very bright supernovae easily visible in amateur scopes.  I was lucky enough to have just received my 8" LX 200 and MX-5C CCD camera only a few days before the supernovae occurred.
