Super Novae (SN) & Super Novae Remnant (SNR) Images
Super novae are stars that have reached the end of their life cycle and are massive enough to collapse in on themselves and explode.   These explosions are extremely violent, and the light from the collapsing star will often be brighter than the entire galaxy that they were a part of.   Enough stars reach this supernovae stage so that at any given time, several can be viewed or imaged with amateur telescopes.   Stars that enter the supernovae state often turn into pulsars that emit strong radio pulses.  If you are interested in viewing a supernovae, monitor the International Supernovae Network web page frequently.  The pages list new supernovae which you may be able to see.   I am just getting started is this area of amateur astronomy, so my image list is currently short.
