This image was taken with Meade f3.3 focal reducer and the IDAS Light Pollution Filter installed in the SCT adapter attached to my 8" f10 LX 200.    The image is a composite of three 20 min exposures guided with the STAR 2000 auto tracker.  They were color converted and added together in Astro Art and  then further processed  in Photoshop.   You can just see the dim trailing arms of the galaxy in these images, but the intersecting dust lanes are clearly visible.  Total exposure is 60 minutes.  Click here to go back.
