Dates and Times for Multiple Shadow Events of Jupiter's Moons

The table shows the date and time in UTC for the events out through 2002.  These events were determined from low precision calculations, so I may not have captured every one.  I estimate that the UTC times are accurate to within about 10-15 minutes.   Minutes is the duration of the dual shadow event in minutes and JCM is the central meridian of Jupiter at the start of the event.  You can use this to see if the GRS is visible also.  Use these only as an initial guide.  Calculate the exact time from higer precision routines.  Click here to go back.

The chart shows that the dual shadow events tend to come in groupings with the next set of events occurring in the Oct 2001-Nov 2001 time frame.     Click here to go back.
